Mission Impossible

Pastor Elwin Ahu

"Now, therefore, fear the Lord and...put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River... [Choose] for yourselves today whom you will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Josh. 24:14-15)

  • Dysfunction: not functioning AS GOD INTENDED.

  1. Take RESPONSIBILITY.
"Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.'" (Gen. 4:6-7)

"David said to God, 'I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.'" (1 Chr. 21:8)

    Quit blaming ONE ANOTHER.

    Quit blaming GOD.
"The man said, 'The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.'" (Gen. 3:12)

    Quit blaming THE DEVIL.
"Then the Lord God said to the woman, 'What is this you have done?' And the woman said, 'The serpent deceived me, and I ate.'" (Gen. 3:13)

  2. Set BOUNDARIES and CONSEQUENCES.
"...it is stupid to hate correction." (Prov. 12:1 NLT)

"If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding." (Prov. 15:32 NLT)

  3. Stay FAITHFUL.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6-7)
