Wrestling To Speak the Truth

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
[8]For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while.
(2 Corinthians 7)
Observation
Paul’s firm warning and correction to the church in Corinth involving false teachers, the practice of idol worship produced an inner battle - an inner conflict. It’s not always easy to confront sin, wrong doing especially when you have relationship with the person. What about when you expect Christians to “know better” than to yield to sinful attitudes or lifestyles?
Application
In these latter years in my Christian walk, life and leadership, I’ve seen the significant, life changing value of confronting sin - and it’s been fairly easy to do. Out of love for God and others, not wanting to see people destroyed by sinful choices and acts, I’ll step out and speak God’s truth... in love (most the time:).

Today, I’m wrestling a little more, grieved a little more, struggling with regretful thoughts...a little more, than normal. There’s sin in the camp and I’ve got to sort through my feelings, but step out in boldness, courage and love for Jesus and people - to disciple the hurting, blinded Christian.

I would want someone to do likewise, to save me from misery, deeper sin and judgment.
Prayer
Jesus - than you for being the Savior of our world. Please open our hearts eyes - to see Your love and truth. help me to be a Shepherd leader, who hears and follows through with Your instruction - to make stronger, Bible believing, Christ loving disciples!
