Forgive FirstSam Kapu
"But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too." (Mark 11:25)
Jesus talks about having faith and prayer in your life. He teaches that having strong faith in Him can move mountains. God is capable of doing all things. But this verse caught my eye because he ends by saying you can pray for anything in His name but start by forgiving others so we can be forgiven also. Sometimes we wonder why our prayers are not answered, we wonder why there's no breakthrough, maybe it's because we fail to lay down our grudges and forgive. This is the only way we are forgiven and only when we are forgiven can God come through for us. Not by His choice but our own.
I say I have faith and believe God can do anything in my life which is all good and dandy but if there is still a grudge that I hold or if i have an unforgiving heart all of it means nothing. I need to start my prayers with forgiveness.
Lord please forgive me as I forgive others. Thank you for being so faithful in my life. I stand on your word and believe. Amen.
