The Word of God

Richard Waialeale

Scripture
Psalms 119:89 (NIV)
89 Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
Observation
There are two things that are eternal, God and His word. Jesus in the book of Matthew (24:35) says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”
In the last section of Psalms 119, God’s word shows me so much principles to live by - it tells me to love is the ultimate commandment; to meditate on God’s word that I may have it developed inside of me; it teaches me God’s word is wisdom that if I read His word I will gain much understanding; and His word will guide me in the right path. All these things from God who is eternal and from His Word that teaches us to live and prepare for eternity.

Application
When I follow in the principles of God’s word, this is the closest I will be in His image and what He created me to be. I can trust that no matter what the situation or circumstances, I will walk in the path He prepared for me. I must love as He loves me, meditate on His word as it purifies my soul, and let His word teach me understanding and wisdom.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Prayer
Father I thank you for your word and how it shapes me and molds me day by day into your image. I thank you for teaching me these things in Jesus Name. Amen.
