Seeking His Glory, Speaking with Authority

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. John 7:18
Observation
Jesus’ teachings were radical - revolutionary - yet ridiculous to many. Jews were stunned since Jesus was not learned under a Rabbinical priest. Jesus didn’t have the accolades, degree or reputation among his Rabbi colleagues. Yet He was changing lives, attracting more followers and proclaiming a truth unheard of. Jesus’ claims to be sent from God, equal to God shook the core of many Jews.
Application
I am more convinced - more confident in the message of Truth that I believe and speak of. Jesus is the Son of God, sent from Father God who speaks with authority, seeks the Father’s glory.

I desire to be a man of God who speaks of my Father’s glory - from His authority, proclaiming HIs Word in truth and power. I desire to speak HIs truth with a pure heart - not with impure motives.
Prayer
Dear Daddie, Thank you for revealing Your truth to me. I’m honored to meditate on Your Word, studying to whew myself approved to be Your workman! I ask for Your favor and anointing to speak Your Word with confidence and conviction - through and by Your Spirit!
