Waiting for Miracles


"If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn't they say, 'The Lord brought us up out of Egypt'? But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites." (Judg. 6:13 NLT)
  1. What are you LOOKING for in a miracle?
    "Then the Lord turned to him and said, 'Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!'" (Judg. 6:14 NLT)

    "'When you see what I do, you will not comprehend, for the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes ? so their eyes cannot see...and they cannot turn to Me and let Me heal them.' But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear." (Matt. 13:14-16 NLT)

  2. WHAT purpose will it serve?
    "But Abraham said, 'Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.' The rich man replied, 'No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.' But Abraham said, 'If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even if someone rises from the dead.'" (Luke 16:29-31 NLT)
  3. Miracles are found in what God will entrust US to do in the midst of chaos.
    "For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the One who was crucified ... And my message and my preaching were very plain ... I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God." (1 Cor. 2:2-5 NLT)
