Guardians of the Truth
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance." (Ps. 33:12)

"When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan." (Prov. 29:2)

WHEN SELECTING A LEADER:

  1. Focus on their HEART mor than their PROMISES.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'" (1 Sam. 16:7)

"As he thinks within himself, so he is." (Prov. 23:7)

  2. Consider whether their plan CONTRADICTS or FULFILLS the plans of God.
"Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their plans, because they have not listened to My words. And as for My law, they have rejected it also." (Jer. 6:19)

"Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place." (Rev. 2:5 NIV)

  3. Choose who fears God more than the POPULAR vote.
"...select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens." (Ex. 18:21)

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants." (Deut. 30:19)
