How to Love the Unlovable
""Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart" (1 Pet. 1:22).

  1. The proof of love is seen when your love is STRETCHED!
"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Pet. 4:8).

This is only possible when you:
    • Put your trust in GOD alone.
"Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men ... for He Himself knew what was in man..." (John 2:24-25).

    • Maintain an AGAPE love for others.
"... while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously" (1 Pet. 2:23).

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you..." (Luke 6:27).

  2. Man consists of:
    • SPIRIT
    • SOUL
    • BODY

    • 1/3 of man does not have the ability for the divine.
"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man" (Ps. 118:8).

"Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation" (Ps. 146:3).

  3. We can give people ROOM TO FAIL and still "agape" them.
"... Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart" (1 Pet. 1:22)
