Ohana welcomes another Japan plant
Greetings from the “Land of the Rising Son”!
New Hope Osaka would like to thank our ‘ohana for all the prayers & support you have sown into us as we opened our church. The day of new beginnings finally arrived for New Hope Osaka Fellowship – we officially opened on Sunday, October 16.
Pre-services started back in May 2005. Pastor Kazu Kusumi & the core team have been anticipating this event. Various teams made the service a true example of “Doing Church As a Team.” Working together in unison were Hospitality, Logistics, Worship, Drama, Dance, Tech, Greeters and Children’s Ark.
And volunteers from literally all over the world jumped in to help wherever needed. A YWAM (Youth With A Mission) team from Kona helped to fill in. Another great testimony was how they came out of their own expense to help out. Serving side-by-side with our fellow pioneers in ministry was a blessing indeed!
THEME: “Dream Releaser Church”
No one could be better at sharing the aloha spirit than Pastor Talo & Noriko Sataraka from New Hope Tokyo. He empowered the audience to focus on releasing their dreams for the future.
It was also a privilege & honor to have Dan Shima (“Uncle Dan” as he is referred to back in New Hope O‘ahu) join us from Hawaii. He did not only share a word of encouragement but was a bearer of a DVD greeting from Pastor Wayne Cordeiro. Not to forget the video of the Commissioning Service at the 10th Anniversary in Hawaii where Pastor Wayne & New Hope International prayed for Pastor Kazu in front of over 11,000 people.
“Tangled Up” in Service
Altogether, it was a great atmosphere for new guests to get “tangled up” in the service in some way. For example, while raising the Hawaiian print décor & banner, wires for the rigging became jammed, leaving it hanging half way up.
With little time to spare, we prayed & quickly called the management who sent two repairmen. They were able to get it fixed with only a half-hour to spare.
Spreading New Hope Aloha
Many of the new visitors (about 140 people) who were invited, shared that they had a wonderful time & felt a change in their hearts. The Hawaiian setting & food was a unique & appealing ambiance. It was truly a day to remember & the start of a new beginning for the people of Osaka.
We know that with God all things are possible! So we ask for your continued prayers & support to accomplish God’s purpose for New Hope Osaka.
