One Extravagant Easter Celebration
Over 24,000 Attend New Hope's Easter Services

Online Church attendee, Donald, put together this slideshow using snaps
from the Live Easter Internet video feed as seen from Eugene, Oregon.

The Neil Blaisdell center is accustom to holding large crowds of cheering fans rooting for their favorite basketball team, and groups of screaming teenagers, yelling for the latest rap or pop sensation on stage. However this past weekend, the center was transformed into place that held a giant celebration for Jesus Christ, our risen Savior. All the cheering and shouting was directed and offered up to the One, for which Easter is all about!

New Hope Oahu held four services altogether at the Blaisdell. One on Friday night, in observance of Good Friday. Then, three Easter services; one Saturday night, and two on Sunday morning. Just over 20,000 people came to the Blaisdell during the weekend, and another 4,400 joined us from all over the world, via our Internet Campus, where we streamed all services live. Saturday night service was so full that people had to sit behind the screens. "That was a first for us" said one of the ushers. "Usually we stop seating at the section before the screens, but there were so many people coming in, that we had to seat them behind the screens."

The best news to report is that over 900 people raised their hands in response to the call to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The web team reported that 27 people virtually raised their hands during service as well. Amazing!! Those raising hands were directed to pick up a YES! Packet outside the arena, that contains a Bible and information on the next steps in their walk with Jesus. The YES! Volunteers reported that they ran out of packets the first night and had to assemble hundreds of more the next day! WOW!
