On the Road with Pastor Wayne Web coverage of summer events
Day 3 - The Miracle Day
By Mark Ganialongo
Okay yes, today was the miracle day. Today there were so many lessons that God was teaching all of us. When we entered the van today on our way to the Hult Center for the big concert, Lanu Tilton, the Halau leader, opened by asking everyone to pray for Gail Fung. She was very sick, but all she wanted to do today was dance for God. Not that we should have any doubts, but she was sick and she was to go on soon. Prayers were quickly answered and she was dancing on stage the next hour. Pretty crazy. But it didn’t stop there. When we arrived on site, there were apparently lot's of technical and timing issues that needed to be worked out with the program. Things were not running smoothly. Yesterday no drama, today, DRAMA! But as the rehearsal came to a close, Pastor Wayne began to lead us in prayer he reminded everyone that when we serve God, you must do it with all of your hearts. He said it’s not about performance, it’s about giving it all to God and let him turn our performance into a miracle. And let me tell you that little reminder changed our attitudes and God came through.
On a more personal note…I was having a rather difficult day. Besides all the technical issues, I was not to confident on the Slam Poem that I was supposed to do. I was stumbling over lines, I could not for the life of me get it memorized. I was getting frustrated. I stepped out to the common area, some of the youth contemporary dance members were there. I guess they saw me frustrated, and then the three of them, Jazmine, Shayna, and Brittney, just gave me a small word of encouragement. But they didn’t just give one of those “you can do it” speeches. They were very genuine, sincere, and they also were happy as can be. As they left, I felt very encouraged, and then God reminded me to have that kind of heart. A heart that was genuine, sincere, and most of all be ready to encourage anyone. Surrounded by stress and tension, God used the youth to teach me a lesson on the attitude that I must have. Lessons from the youth…
It was truely a miracle day! John Tilton sums up today the best on the little short video clip I posted. Check it out:
