Debra Molina Following God's Voice

In 1997, Debra Molina went through a painful divorce and soon found herself trying to fill that newly formed void.

"I was trying to fill the void in my life with things on the outside and fell into a relationship with someone that ended very painfully," said Debra.

Things seemed to be going nowhere and desperate to find a solution, she decided to visit New Hope after a friend invited her. It was at New Hope that Debra rededicated her life to Christ and finally realized that she had found the only thing that could fill that void.

Miracles continued to happen and in March of 2004, Debra met her future husband. Although she wasn't really interested in pursuing a relationship, he persisted in asking her out to 'get a bite to eat'. Debra finally agreed and they went to lunch together. As they were eating, Debra expressed to Jorge that "God was first in her life" and invited invited him to New Hope's Good Friday service. Without hesitation he said "yes". He came to Easter service as well and had a true hunger for more of God.

During this time, Debra began attending Women In the Word and continued to deepen her relationship with God. Although she didn't feel that this man met her criteria of how he should look, talk or act; Debra continued to feel that the Lord was telling her to "take a look at this one".

"At that point a deep realization came to me that I had been praying for God's best in my life yet I had been looking for what I thought was best for me," said Debra. "I asked the Lord for forgiveness and trusted that as I had prayed for God's best in my life, I needed to be obedient to His prompting."

Needless to say, Debra and Jorge were married later that year. A couple of the ladies from Debra's Women in the Word small group even attended her wedding! Debra and Jorge continue to pursue a deeper relationship with God and with each other. They both attend New Hope and are involved in ministry.

Today, Debra can't stop telling people her story and reminding them that when God speaks they needs to take action! For He always has their best interest at heart.
