No Worry, Be “In Him”

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his willEphesians 1:11
Observation
I love how Paul lays the foundation of who Christ is and who we are as Christians, IN HIM. Chapter 1 repeats the phrasing “In Him” which we should pay attention to. A couple of questions I’ve asked myself today are: What quality/characteristic of Christ does each “In Him” phrase describe? Because each “In Him” speaks of the nature of Jesus, and the character of God. I also ask, who am I or what promise do I receive as a result of being “In Him?”

In v.11, I have assurance of a future inheritance and God has a plan and purpose for me to walk in, live through, to obtain my eternal promise. His character of wisdom, understanding and love to oversee the purposes of my life.
Application
Today, I want to live differently by believing more deeply and intimately. The action step for me is very internal, faith-challenging and growing. Believing, holding onto the internal assurance and confidence that my life “in Him” is secure... no doubt, no wavering, no questions asked. I trust His Word and today I will live with a clinging, believing faith - God has secured me forever.

There’s some insecurity, worry, fear... that I face on my insides. My thoughts and faith waver a little, away from a confident assurance that God has everything about my life under control. That has changed for the better once again! Thank you Jesus!
Prayer
I love being IN YOU, Lord Jesus! Thank you for the firm, loving, reassuring reminder that I am IN CHRIST and YOU ARE IN ME! I No Need Worry - just keep living IN YOU!
