Live unity now!

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:9-10
Observation
Eternal life as the Scripture reveals is not just about me being with Jesus, enjoying my life. The electrifying community of nations gathering, celebrating together far exceeds the thought of just “my place in heaven.” This is no concert. There will be no audience. We, God’s children, the chosen, the select, elect of God will be called kingdom and priests. There will be no spectators. The song we will be singing in concert with one another exalts Jesus!
Application
I am so selfish to think about eternity being a benefit for me. I will have eternal life - but it’s not all about me. I forget that at times. The life transforming thought for me today is that I desire to begin living out the unity of heaven, here on earth - with the kingdom and priests of God.

Today, I am reminded that expression of unity and living in concert with other believers does not exclude anyone. No matter how poor or rich, clean or dirty, smart or retarded, able or disabled a believer may be to “me”, I want to sing and live in unity with all believers.

More specifically, I am convicted to not “be the judge” of character by the outward or because people don’t’ line up with my way of life or expectations. I’m so bad that way. Help Lord!
Prayer
Thank you for the life I will live eternally with you and all the nations of kingdom, priests! I can’t wait - but in the mean time Lord... Help me to live in unity, treating my brothers and sisters of all races, kinds, personalities, churches with Christ like respect and honor! PLEASE,
PLEASE forgive me for my judgmental attitude! I receive Your grace and forgiveness - to change - to live out the change, by Your grace and strength!
