Believe the Scriptures - Believe Jesus

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken. John 2:22
Observation
John’s writing of Jesus correcting the Jews for turning the temple into a marketplace and speaks of the temple being destroyed and rebuilt (symbolizing His resurrection). The Jews are in disbelief mainly because Jesus is claiming to be Messiah God.

So in John 2:22, the disciples recall Jesus’ claims of the resurrection at the temple. Believing the Scripture (in the disciples case is the OT writings of prophecy involving Jesus) and Jesus’ teachings and claims.

Application
1 Peter 1:8 says “You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. ”

I love that God has opened my heart and eyes to know Him. He has used the Scriptures the Truth of God’s Word, speaking to my heart by the Holy Spirit!

Today - I’m so thankful that I have a relationship with Jesus. That I trust Him, love Him. I tell Him that I need and want Him - and it’s because He has revealed to my heart that the Scriptures are true! What Jesus spoke of, He accomplished, having given Himself to die on the cross - being resurrected in 3 days...just as He told the opposing Jews! I believe the Scriptures - I believe Jesus!

Prayer
I can’t thank you enough Daddie, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. You 3 are quite the team... to touch and transform lives like mine. Please be with my family and help each of us to continue to believe the Scriptures and believe Jesus!
