Silence

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Revelation 8:1
Observation
The final seal is opened and revealed by Jesus, the Lamb of God. Each seal represented a vision God gave to John pertaining to the dealings and judgment of God on earth and heavens interaction.

These visions reveals not just the doings and dealings of God, but also His character - through the person of Jesus. The Lamb who suffered and was slain is now the Lamb who sits on the throne, at the right hand of His Father! Rev. 7:17 For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Whether God is really clocking the time of silence in heaven or not, judgement calls for silence. The resounding praises of heaven pauses which may have “felt like eternity.”
Application
This passage speaks of the Awesomeness of God to me. The Greatness, Supremacy and Lordship of Jesus is at the center of these passages for me.

As I consider the fierceness and power of God, my spirit is in awe. My praise is paused to be silent before Him. To consider the Magnificence and Majesty of Jesus. My sin is brought before me. I am fully aware (as I know to be) that I am doomed without and apart from the salvation of Jesus - the risen Lamb of God!

Today, I will live differently considering His greatness, power, fierceness as God ALL-Mighty... and His grace given to me. I desire to live a little more in silent worship, resting in the peace of being still before Him - in Him. I deserve God’s wrath - but have gained His forgiveness, acceptance and love. I am silent before You!
Prayer
I bow my heart in silent reverence before You - God All - Mighty! You are greater than great! Mightier than might. More powerful than power. You are God ALL-Everything... to me!!
Thank you Jesus - for being the Risen Lamb of God, who withholds the judgement I deserve. Thank you for cleaning and cleansing me from all my sins - for eternity’s sake, for all eternity.
