PASTORS' DAILY DEVOTIONAL
No God, no peace.Micah Simpson
1 Peter 5:14 "peace be to you all who are in Christ." Isaiah 48:22 "there is no peace for the wicked."
Jesus is the one who established peace for us. If it wasn't for Jesus then there would still be hostility between us and God, and between us and other people. When Jesus died, he took hostility to the grave, and when he rose, he became our peace. However, for those who do not find their home in Jesus, those who are still serving the tyrant of sin, those who are wicked and of the world, they will not know peace. They may have a few peaceful moments in their lifetime, but true peace is only found in Jesus.
I am so thankful that I have peace! Because of peace, I can have access to the presence of God, and because of peace, I am in full unity with all Gods people! I am beginning to understand that to speak of peace is to speak of Jesus, and to speak of Jesus is to speak of peace. I am beginning to see that to know God is to know peace, and where there is no God, there is no peace! I definitely don't want to be a peace hog, I desire to be someone who proclaims peace, who testifies to it, and who let's the world know how good it is!
Lord I pray that peace would not be a nice little saying, or a word that only describes the hippie movement, but I pray that the peace of Christ would be mine, and that I would see it and know it and understand how great it is. I pray I would walk in peace, because it's the peace of Christ that removed all hostility, and when I walk in peace, I can walk in unity, and I can walk in the presence of God!
