In the Quiet with God

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." (Mark 1:35)
Observation
After a long and fruitful night of performing many miracles, Jesus gets up early to pray. How critical it must have bee for Jesus to be alone with God, in the quiet, having been used mightily and being "filled up" because His gifts, passions and purpose were expressed, producing successful results!

The quiet with God is more than refueling for the next days work or acquiring the next important assignment. It's refreshing the relationship. Seeking, purifying, reconnecting. hearing, responding, loving, communion - with Dad the Father!
Application
That's what I'm hearing for myself today. Commune with Me. I'm asking, requesting, seeking - but for reasons FOR the Kingdom and NOT WITH my King! I need to be with my King more. A brother encouraged me with these words: I get caught doing more for God, than being with Him. It's convicting yet enlightening because that is true of me. I'm finding myself doing for God - not being with Him enough!

Stop rushing through my prayer time, devotions, worship time! Today - I MUST...BE WITH YOU!
Prayer
I NEED YOU LORD! I NEED YOU LORD! I WANT YOU LORD! INTO YOUR PRESENCE I WILL ENTER, WITH A HEART THAT IS THIRSTY AND NEEDY FOR YOU!
