The Role of the Pastor
Richard Waialeale
Scripture
Hebrews 8:1-3 (NIV)
1 The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.
3 Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

Observation
Jesus intercedes for all believers who trusts in him as the High Priest sitting on the throne in Heaven. The True Tabernacle is the heavenly place where we will be of service to God. Everyone has access to Jesus at any time. The role of the pastor is like that of a shepherd, who will lead, feed, and guide the people to spiritual growth and service for the Lord Jesus. My role as a pastor is to point people to Jesus, believers and non-believers alike.
Application
Understanding the role of a pastor/shepherd, I dedicated my life to serving Jesus by leading people to the foot of the throne. I must be conscience of people around me that I am constantly pointing them to Christ, feeding the sheep and always serving in a way it honors the Lord. Every pastor needs a pastor, means I continue accountability by meeting with a small group of pastors that will hold me to the fire. I must be accountable for my actions.
Prayer
Father, thank you for guiding me in bringing everyone together to a place of worship. I never take for granted the role to lead people to worship and save the lost in Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
