Fruit of the Spirit

Richard Waialeale

Scripture
"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" (Galatians 5:22-23)
Observation
The Bible describes - Character of Jesus as the Fruit of the Spirit. We can develop that same character of Jesus because of the Holy Spirit living in us.

One of the primary purposes of the Holy Spirit coming into a Christian's life is to change that life (why would we want to do that?). It is the Holy Spirit's job to conform us to the image of Christ, making us more like Him.
Application
The Bible says in John 15:16, You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

That fruit that Jesus talks about is the character that I continue to build within me - the character of Jesus, Fruit of the Spirit. When I can be more of Jesus and less of me, then the people will see Jesus and not so much me. My purpose is to point them to Jesus, to follow Christ.
Prayer
Father I pray that I set my sights on You to follow You all the days of my life. To be a man of God and to be able to say I will make disciples of all nations. Pointing people to Jesus and having them see Christ by the Fruit of the Spirit. Amen.
