Clear In Your Destination

Richard Waialeale

Scripture
John 17:1 (NIV) Jesus Prays for Himself
1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.

John 17:6 (NIV) Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6 "I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.

John 17:20-21 (NIV) Jesus Prays for All Believers
20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Observation
Jesus was clear in his destination because he received his directions from God. Setting God given goals will give me clear direction for where I want to go. If I don’t set goals, I’ll just go through life drifting from one crisis to another crisis. So in order to first have something to accomplish you’ve got to know where you’re headed – your direction in life.

The great reverend, E. Paul Hovey once said: "A Blind man’s world is bound by the limits of his touch;
An ignorant man’s world is bound by the limits of his knowledge;
A great man’s world is bound by the limits of his vision."

Visionary leaders are confident and know where they’re headed.

Application
I have three purposes in my life that I want to accomplish:
1. I want to become as much like Christ as possible.
2. I want to help my family become as much like Christ as possible.
3. I want to help as many other people as I can become as much like Christ as possible.

Prayer
Lord the prayer that Jesus prayed speaks to me about the direction I plan to walk. I want to be all that I can for the sake of Christ, and I want to be able to influence every person You place before me to be all they can in Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for giving me the truth of Your Word, in Jesus Name I Pray all these things. Amen.
