Breakout Session #1 - 10:30 - 11:45AM

1. Creating an Encore Experience - John Tilton
   What is it that brings people back again and again to experience God in our services and ministries? How is an Encore Experience created? Well, it's all about the MAC. No, not a Big MAC or Apple computer. Its all about the CAR. But not a 2009 luxury set of wheels. Come and learn about the importance of the biblical principles of the MAC and our CAR in ministry. Whether you are a ministry leader, volunteer or service attendee, come and garner the insights to what God is doing at New Hope to create a culture and encore experience that touches hearts, grows leaders, values volunteers and builds life-on-life relationships.
   
   
2. Encore Compassion. Serving Alongside Difficult People - Fernando Castillo
   Serving God in a ministry team is amazingly rewarding, but there are times when we will find ourselves serving alongside difficult people. As we chose to serve, we may encounter people that are overly needy, critical, controlling, and even stubborn. How can we deal with difficult people in our ministry teams in a way that brings glory to God? Jesus was able to buil d the most amazing ministry team with some of the most difficult people. During this session we will learn from Jesus example the art of practicing ENCORE COMPASSION when serving alongside difficult people.
   
   
3. Healthy Family Life: Developing a Healthy Marriage and Raising Children to Live for God - Elwin Ahu
   Like people, marriages come in many different varieties. Despite the different approaches that couples collectively have to marriage, the elements of a healthy marriage share some common characteristics. These common characteristics do not imply that a marriage will be free of conflict but rather that couples with these elements have the "glue" that keeps them together. Come learn how to build these Godly characteristics into your marriage, resulting in a life long friendship with your spouse and children that honor the Lord.
   
   
4. Leading Past Failed Expectations - Glenn Yamaguchi
   Have you ever felt that you had a God given vision and as you try to make that vision a reality you encounter breakdowns somewhere along the line? We can have failed expectations of ourselves and others, but how do you trouble shoot the breakdown? Gain some helpful tools on how to troubleshoot the core issues in leading people through the breakdown.

We will also learn what the Bible says about times such as these and how we can apply sound financial principles to find an understanding, peace and wherewithal to make it through this current recession we find ourselves in.

   Hey Artists! Do you want to make Jesus famous? We invite you "backstage" with New Hope's evangelism & creative leaders as we pull back the curtains to present an inside view of how we creatively present the Gospel in supporting pastor's message with elements of song, dance, drama, multi-media, sound, lights and special effects. Discover how the services are programmed, artistically created, technically supported and presented. As leaders, you will learn to garner the practical tools in creative presentations of the Gospel.
   
   
2. Endangered Species: Godly Men Leading the Way! - Elwin Ahu
   If you're like most Christian men, you want to be the kind of leader God designed „ strong, confident, one who takes care of himself and the people he loves. But when you find yourself dealing unsuccessfully with difficult coworkers on a daily basis ... when your relationship with your wife seems damaged beyond repair ... or when your children rebel, that destiny may seem unattainable. Join us as we explore the facets of developing into Godly men.
   
   
3. Volunteerism: The Heart and Art of Recruiting and Retention - Rod Shimabukuro

1. Thriving as an Encore Team - Elwin Ahu
   Everything that we do, everything that we are, everything that we hope to be begins at one point - our relationship with God and one another. Through valuing our relationship with God first, we are able to be a part of God's plan in bridging the gap between Him and those that don't yet know Him. As servant team members, we witness first hand the thrill that is achieved in serving Him... bringing us back again and again to the foot of the cross.Come learn some of the first steps in building teams with hearts to serve Him first.
   
   
2. Life Journaling: How God's Word Can Transform Our Daily Life - Aaron Cordeiro
   Your personal time with Jesus is the spring from which your faith and ministry will flow. It makes sense, then, to do devotions as a team. Come discover ways to mine God's Word together & become a team after God's own heart.
