Loving God Through Our Reach

"For I was hungry, and you fed Me. I was thirsty, and you gave Me a drink ... a stranger, and you invited Me in ... naked, and you gave Me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for Me ... in prison, and you visited Me ... [When] you did it to one of the least of these ... you were doing it to Me!" (Matt. 25:35-40 NLT)

"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'" (Matt. 25:37-39)

"Share your food with the hungry ... [help] those who are helpless, poor, and destitute. Clothe those who are cold, and don't hide from relatives who need your help. If you do these things, God will shed His own glorious light upon you ... [Goodness] will be a shield before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind. Then, when you call, the Lord will [quickly] answer, 'Yes, I am here.'" (Is. 58:7-9 LB)
